Color4Nails - Crystalline Nail Veil

     So, I'm a bit behind on the heart motif. I did this nail art look back in February. Pretty close to Valentine's Day, actually. Imagine that. 

     Anyway, Color4Nails sent me the new Crystalline Nail Veil for review. It's a liquid latex veil you paint on before your nail art to save you the hassle of tons of cleanup.

Simple Chevron Nail Art

          Last night, I needed a palate cleanser. While going through my polish, I decided on OPI My Vampire Is Buff. You can see my review of the polish here. I was so tired after working 37 hours in three days that I nearly fell asleep while waiting for it to dry. I don't know why I even attempted to change my polish. Fast forward 11 hours. (Yes, I slept for 11 hours.) I woke up to a hot mess. It wasn't a pretty site. I decided to clean it up and add something to it.

OPI Euro Centrale Spring 2013 Collection

            I know I'm a little late to the game with this post, but had to share. This is the first OPI collection that I've purchased all in one shot. Receiving this nail mail was glorious. There's nothing like cracking open a box and seeing 12 new OPIs. Who wouldn't like that?

OPI Euro Centrale Duo: I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw and Polka.Com

          Happy Valentine's Day, dolls! I hope everyone had a great day! Mine was a lazy day of watching Seinfeld with my boys. I wouldn't have had it any other way. This week was stressful and I needed a chance to unwind. 

             Today's manicure features two polishes from the new OPI Euro Centrale collection. I Saw...U Saw...We Saw...Warsaw is a dark blue creme, but not so dark that it looks black. The formula was a dream; two coats was perfect. As with most cremes, I couldn't leave well enough alone. I had to add to it.

One coat Seche Vite

        Isn't this a great combo? Polka.com is a blue, purple, and fuchsia medium hex trio with tiny purple glitters in a clear base. The formula was a little thick, but applied well. I got great glitter payoff with just one coat. It dried quickly and became completely smooth with one coat of Seche Vite. What more could I ask for? 

          The Euro Centrale collection is the first collection I've ever purchased as a whole. Be on the look out for the rest of the collection soon! I'm thinking I might just swatch them all at once. Do you have your eye on any from this collection? 

Lynnderella - Magic Fairy Stars

         What's purple, sparkly, and  perfect? This polish! Lynnderella Magic Fairy Stars is a limited edition polish filled with lavender and light blue glitter with a sprinkling of teeny tiny baby stars, large stars, and blue crescent moons. Words can't describe how lovely this polish looks.

          This was a breeze to apply. One coat was plenty! When I pulled out the large star and the blue moon, I placed them were I wanted. I'm glad I didn't get more. I need to save them for later, and I didn't want to overpower the teeny tiny stars. The baby stars are by far my favorite part of this polish.

          I'm absolutely in love with this. I really wish I could have captured the little holo bits, but I guess I'll just keep the good stuff all to myself.

My First Fishtail Attempt

     I recently purchased a bunch of nail art brushes. Last night, I really wanted to use them but couldn't think of a darn thing to do. I ended up not using them and went with a fishtail manicure instead. I've never tried this look before. For my first attempt, I think I did pretty well. (My light box still isn't back up yet. Excuse the less than normal pictures.)

      This look was much easier than I expected. At first, I just did three colors as an accent on each hand. When I realized I could do it on my right hand without any problems, I decided to go all out. The addition of I Brake For Manicures was a last minute idea. I think it pulls it together nicely. The best part of this? I used 4 untrieds!

     This looks a million times better in real life. It's not perfect, but it'll just get easier the more I do it. Now, I just need to figure out what to do with those new brushes. Any ideas?

OPI Stay The Night Liquid Sand

     OPI and Mariah Carey teamed up for a pretty fabulous collection that released this month. Four of the polishes are a completely new finish: Liquid Sand. Interesting, huh? When I first saw this finish, I was leery. I thought they were going to be gritty and chunky glitters. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised. I picked up three of the four. Today's swatches are of Stay The Night.

Stay The Night: Three coats over one coat of Orly Bonder.

     Stay The Night is a black textured jelly-ish polish packed with red glimmering glitters. I had to use three coats to achieve full opacity, but it built up nicely. Dry time was good. I did the complete manicure in less than 20 minutes.  I was surprised by the texture. It's not rough at all. It's actually on the squishy side. I couldn't stop touching my nails when I was wearing this.

      The jelly look and feel of the base gives this a great depth; the glitter catches the light at every possible chance. I couldn't help but stare at my nails. My boyfriend actually complimented me on them. He liked the look of the sand.

     I wore this for two days and had no tip wear or chips! Pretty phenomenal for me; I have oily nail beds and most polish peels off my within a day of wear. It's usually not a problem since I change it up so often.

OPI Man of La Mancha

     Whew. I'm glad the holidays are over! I was so busy that I didn't even get a chance to finish up the nail art challenge with a Santa manicure. To get through the busiest time of the year at work, I wore a England St. George since it lasts at least 5 days for me.

     Anyway, I recently found OPI Man of La Mancha on Amazon for a good price. I knew it was somewhat hard to find, so I had to snatch it up. It's from the 2003 Holiday on Broadway collection. I can't believe this polish is over 12 years old! As with a polish of this age, it's a black label and is not 3 free.

     This polish is incredibly hard to photograph. I think I took over 60 pictures, and I still don't think I did it any justice. MOLM is a sheer shimmery red orange multichrome with flashes of green, berry, orange, and gold. For this look, I layered it over China Glaze Merry Berry. I opted for a more red base to show off the true color shown in the bottle.

    The two photos above were taken in my light box. As you can see, the flashes of green aren't showing up here. I almost lost hope until I walked into my kitchen. The lighting in there completely changed this polish! 

     Look at that! I'm so in love with this polish. The color is amazing. The formula is perfect. The smell reminds me of my mom. This is one of my favorites now.

     Gorgeous, right? I'm sure this will be a polish I'll keep going back to even though I'll be afraid of using it all up.

OPI German-icure and Half Moon Attempt

     A few days ago, I wore OPI German-icure for the first time. I'm not typically a fan of red polish, but this one is perfect for me. It's a beautiful blackened vampy red shimmer. It's not too bright or too dark. In the light, it's reflective and almost metallic. I actually wore this for 3 days. It's extremely versatile and I received many compliments on it.

OPI Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow Suede

     Tonight's polish change is a stunner. OPI Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow Suede was released for Fall 2010. I've been looking for OPI suedes since I started collecting polish a little less than a year ago. A wonderful lady in one of my favorite nail groups on Facebook RAOKed (Random Act Of Kindness) me! I was so surprised to randomly find this gem in my mailbox. It totally made my day. Thanks again, Jessica! 

     Here Today... Aragon Tomorrow is a beautiful emerald green with silvery foil shimmer throughout. Application was a little trickier than other matte polishes I own. The first coat was streaky, the second coat had a few bald spots, but the third coat... WOW. It was perfect.
