Falling for Nail Art: Bump In The Night

I did my Bump In The Night nails two nights ago and almost posted them early because I'm so in love with them! For this look, I decided to go with a mixed manicure including a texture, some stamping, a little glitter, and nail gem. It's perfect for Halloween, or any time if you really like bats! You could most definitely change this up to suit your own style.

Check out all the details after the cut! You don't want to miss out on this one.

Glitzology - Purple Rain

Before I even start this post, you need to watch this video. You're welcome. Anyway, this manicure started with me wanting to try out one of my new Illamasqua polishes from my most recent Sephora order. The base color was really pretty, but needed something more. Here's the result.

Glitzology Purple Rain: One coat over two coats Illamasqua Superstition
Two coats Out The Door

That's just one coat of Purple Rain! Can you believe it? Stacy of Glitzology makes such stunners. Purple Rain is a generous mix of purple glitters ranging from a light lilac to a dark royal with a ton of tiny holo bits. It's the perfect accompaniment to Illamasqua Superstition, a bright fuchsia pink. Two coats of Out The Door smoothed out the glitters and gave it the floating glitter look I love.

I've been on a purple kick lately. I just can't get enough. What's on your nails right now?

Illamasqua Glitterati

Let's keep this train a chuggin' along. Today's polish is Illamasqua Glitterati, a raspberry jelly with tons of glitters ranging from a pink shimmer to medium holo bits. This bottle of perfection is heaven sent.

These swatches are two coats with base and top. I was surprised by the opacity of this polish. I expected  the jelly consistency to be sheer, but two coats evened it out beautifully.

As you can see, this polish is perfectly smooth with top coat; I used Seche Vite. I love how the glitter is floating and doesn't sink at all. I keep looking at my nails in different lighting just to watch the glitter catch my eye.

Illamasqua is definitely near the top of my favorite brands list. I can't help but want them all!

12 Days of Christmas: Day Five Snow

Snow. What an ugly word! I hate snow. If I could have autumn all year round, I would never complain about the weather. Luckily, Pittsburgh hasn't been hit with the white fluffy stuff yet. The weather has been great lately, but enough about that. On to the polish!

This was a simple look. With how much I've been working, I had to take an easy day. I used a few of my favorite pastels for this look: Illamasqua Nomad, Illamasqua Jo'Mina, and Essie Where's My Chauffeur. I was getting tired of the red and green polish already. I had to mix it up.

I used a Bundle Monster plate and Zoya Trixie to create the snowflakes. I love how simple and clean this looks. To fill in some of the empty space, I used a small dotting tool. I finished it off with a coat of Seche Vite.

This is definitely a fun, simple, and refreshing holiday manicure. I love pastels in the winter.

Is anyone else hoping the snow holds off?

Glitzology Raspberry Beret

I know, I know. I've been MIA, but it's with good cause. It's the holiday season and I work retail. You do the math! (Does anyone else picture Betty saying that?)

Anyways, I've got a good one for you today. I recently came across Glitzology via some friends in a polish group on Facebook. During a $5 sale, I picked up today's polish, Raspberry Beret, and Stuck In The Chimney which will make an appearance at a later date.

Raspberry Beret is a lovely mix of  fine and medium raspberry hexes, blue "shreds" that are mostly square, and a few opal squares here and there. These photos show one coat over two coats of Illamasqua Jo'mina. I used one coat of Gelous followed by one coat of Seche Vite. The SV alone would have done the trick, but I really like super smooth look of the duo. Application was a breeze. The polish was PACKED with glitter. It applied evenly and easily. And who doesn't love Prince? Come on now!

I was so impressed by this polish that I ordered more today! Glitzology is currently running a special promotion for Small Business Saturday and it runs through Monday the 26th. $4.25 is a steal for the quality of these. Just enter SUPPORTSMALL50 during checkout. :)

Illamasqua Nomad

First of all, I'm sorry to anyone who actually reads this blog. I'm horrible with starting a project, but never following through it. I was so excited to start this blog. I'm always doing my nails and posting them in various Facebook groups and on Instagram (ashleyeileen_). I'm not sure what's been keeping me from making an actual blog post.

Well, here's to a fresh start!

I just got my hands on my first Illamasqua. I've had Nomad on my wishlist for some time now. I was on a no-buy for all of August thanks to a secret swap I was taking part in. My lovely swap partner sent me an AWESOME box. I'll be sure to post the other gifts later. :)

Illamasqua Nomad is a pastel jade with absolutely flawless application. I used two coats with a coat of Seche Vite for these pictures.

There's more under the cut!
