Falling for Nail Art: Back to School

Happy Autumn! Happy first day of the nail art challenge! And more importantly, happy birthday to me! Today kicks off my Falling for Nail Art challenge. It runs from today, the first day of fall, through Thanksgiving. If you missed my initial post on this, you can check it out here.
Just a warning, I am by no means a nail art master. I'm hosting this challenge to better myself and have some fun along the way. The first day's theme is Back to School. I decided to do a mixed manicure.

Back to School
For this nail art, I used a base of nail polish. I can't remember which polishes I used, but I'll try to update this later with a list. Michael's had an AWESOME sale on acrylic paint yesterday. I picked up 18 bottles for $6 plus tax. I've never used acrylic before; it's super easy! I highly recommend it. It's much easier to use than polish because it doesn't dry quickly.

It's not terrible, but it's not the best. I really don't like the school bus, and I think the pencils would have looked better if I had made them all vertical on the nail. The apple is my favorite! It figures it would be the nail that took the least amount of effort. What do you think?

Don't forget! You can still join in on the challenge. You can post them on your blog and add your link below, post them on Instagram with the tag #fallingfornailart, or you can share them on my Facebook page and I'll share them from there. I'll also be making a Pinterest board!  Do as many or as few as you'd like. Here's the schedule:

Check out the other bloggers who have joined in!
