Penelope Luz - Belly Dance and Modern Art

Press Sample

Hey, babes! Sorry for the lack of posts. First, I was busy with work and dealing with a sick boyfriend. Then, I got a cold. I've been in bed for the past few days. With naked nails! I know, I know. I actually did my nails for tomorrow's nail art challenge and I can't wait to share them. I was clearing out pictures on my laptop when I came across these two Penelope Luz polishes. I can't believe I forgot them!

Penelope Luz is a 3 free Brazilian indie polish. I've been eying up a few of her polishes, but never bought them because they weren't readily available in the US. Until now! Color4Nails makes indie shopping so much easier.

Check out all the good stuff under the cut...

All pictures are in natural light.
One coat of Rejuvacote was used as a base.

one coat over Sinful Colors Laced Up
one coat Seche Vite

Great application! There's so much glitter for just one coat. It was even and easy to work with. Dry time was typical for a glitter, and one coat of SV glossed it over perfectly.

Belly Dance

The gold over the red-orange adds a nice sparkle, but those jewel toned glitter really pop. I really liked this combination until I layered it over black. Get ready for this one!

WOW. I wish I could show off how amazing this was in real life. It's phenomenal. This is the first gold based polish that I've ever fell in love with. EVER.

Belly Dance

BAM. Amazing, right? That's what I thought. Speechless.

Modern Art
clear base
matte red bars and hexes
matte black bars, hexes, and tiny glitters
shiny blue hexes and squares
matte light pink hexes
matte white bars, hexes, and tiny glitters

Modern Art
two coats over Zoya Dove
one coat Seche Vite

Pretty good formula, but it took two coats for a really nice glitter payoff. One coat didn't have the oomph I was looking for. The dry time was good, and one coat of SV was perfect.

Modern Art

I really love the look of this over a light gray. You can see all the different glitters without them competing with the base color.

Modern Art
two coats over Essie Go Overboard
one coat Seche Vite

The black glitter gets a bit lost over this dark teal base. The blue glitter really shines, though.

Modern Art

Which base do you like better for this glitter topper? I think I'm leaning towards the gray.
