L'Oreal - Berry Nice and a Jelly Nail Art Sandwich

After a terrible day, I shop to make myself feel better. Retail therapy always helps. I stopped at a grocery store after work to get ice cream and found myself near the makeup. Big surprise, huh? I spotted the new Miss Candy collection from L'Oreal. This collection has eight great jelly polishes. I picked up a few. Today's post features my favorite so far: Berry Nice. A nice syrupy grape jelly polish. It was opaque enough for me in three coats and had a great shiny and squishy look. I love this polish!

I'm not sure if any of you have seen a jelly nail art sandwich before this. I first saw it a few weeks ago when a picture was floating around in a few nail polish groups on Facebook. I'm not sure who was the original post. If you do, let me know! Here are a few ideas I wanted to try out first.

L'Oreal Berry Nice
four coats
WNW White Creme between
each layer for the nail art
no top coat

I free handed these designs with a small nail art brush. I was just testing out different designs. These are far from perfect, but I thought you might want to see them. The dotticure was my favorite. After that, the half circles. If I attempt this again, I'll use striping tape or a stamp.

See which design I chose for a full manicure after the jump...

I went with the dotticure! I liked this design best and wanted something I knew I could do easily and quickly. The lighting is a bit off from my usual because I didn't use natural light. Sorry!

For this, I applied a coat of Berry Nice, a few large dots, and then just repeated that two more times. I finished it off with a coat of Berry Nice and a coat of Seche Vite. It was fine without top coat, but I wanted to seal it in for maximum wear.

How great is the squishy look of this? It has such a great depth and shine. I've been wearing this for three days and it still looks just as fabulous.

I also bought the lilac and mint from the collection, but I need to get my hands on the dark blue, red, and orange. I'm thinking a rainbow jelly sandwich.

L'Oreal polishes can be found in drugstores and retail stores such as Target.

    1. Just a regular white polish and dotting tools.
