American Horror Story Inspired Nail Art - Elizabeth the Countess

If you're like me and everyone else, you're an American Horror Story fan. I've been watching the show for a few years, but season one's Murder House is still my favorite. The current season is only a few episodes in and it's absolutely disturbing. (Along with being a bit problematic, but I won't get into that.)

I was inspired by one of the main characters this season: Elizabeth the Countess. Keep reading for the details...

Products Used

OPI My Vampire is Buff
Essie Fishnet Stockings
Seche Vite
Seche Restore Polish Thinner
fan brush
Ellagee Lickety Split Mani Mask
rhinestone stickers

If you weren't aware, Elizabeth the Countess is played by none other than Lady Gaga. She's perfect for the role and for the inspiration behind this look. I feel like I should have stiletto nails to really hit the look, but that will never happen.

Elizabeth is a milky skinned vampire with impeccable fashion sense and a lust for blood.

If you Google how to do blood spatter nails, you'll find a bunch of tutorials about using a straw and blowing the polish on your nails. I couldn't achieve this look like that.

Instead, I used a thick and deep red polish thinned out with some polish thinner. This was a messy and totally necessary process. Thank goodness for Lickety Split! I then used a fan brush to spatter the red on my nails. I've never seen such a perfect blood spatter look! You'll definitely want to let it dry before top coating.

I had these rhinestone sticker things in a box of nail art supplies. Unfortunately, I have no idea where they came from. If I were to do this look again, I'd use other gems and place them individually.

Personally, I think this is a great take on Elizabeth the Countess. Don't you?

I'm trying to think up some other AHS nail art looks. Any ideas?
