Ipsy Glam Bag April 2014: Beauty Rocks

Referral Link

I'm feeling a lot better since my last post and today was a great mail day! First, my most recent Asos Curve order arrived, but it I'm only keeping one of the four items. Secondly, this awesome Ipsy bag came! This is the third one I've received, and the best yet. I'm super pleased by this subscription box. I used to get a few others and they were all disappointing.

I did a quick swatch and tell under the cut!

travel size Big Sexy Root Pump, travel size Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Velvet Eyeliner in Black Velvet, Starlooks Luscious Longwear Lip Pencil in Nude, sample size Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion, Elizabeth Mott Eyeshadow in Champagne, Ipsy record player makeup bag

Big Sexy Root Pump

I love this product and have been using it for over five years. A little goes a long way. I just spray a few rows into my damp hair, comb it through, and blow dry. It adds some texture to my fine hair and gives me loads of volume. It also keeps my hair from getting super oily throughout the day.

Urban Decay 24/7 Velvet Eyeliner
Black Velvet

I was most excited to see this in my bag! I saw this at Ulta a few days ago and almost picked it up. I tried this out in a harsh line and then I did a smudged line. It has a nice, deep pigmentation and blended out with little effort. I can't wait to try this out with a great smoky eye.

Starlooks Luscious Longwear Lip Pencil
Nude

The pencil says this is nude and the end of the pencil appears nude. However, this is not what I think of as nude. It's very pink toned. The pigmentation was great, though! I would have done a lip swatch, but I didn't want to take off my makeup from today.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion

I was just "meh" about this. On first impression, it has a nice minty scent and the scrubbiness of it is very fine. I think this will be a mildly exfoliating, but it's too soon to tell. I'll probably try it once and be done with it.

Elizabeth Mott Eyeshadow
Champagne

I'm glad this is a shade I'll actually use. It's a nice, neutral color that can be used alone or as a highlight. I didn't use any base for this quick swatch. I've shown it alone and blended out. I can see using this quite often. It seems similar to Urban Decay Sin, but don't quote me on that!

Overall, I'm really pleased by this month's Ipsy bag! Have you tried any of these items? Are you an Ipsy subscriber?

Ipsy Glam Bag usually has a waiting list, but you can sign up using my referral link if you want to skip the line! It's only $10 a month. You earn points for referrals and reviews, and can redeem those points for more beauty products. Pretty neat, huh?
