Honey Bunny Lacquer is a new to my indie that I was super excited to try. Deb, the mastermind behind the brand, contacted me after the plagiarism mess last month. She was really supportive and I'm glad the incident brought her and so many others into my life.
Deb of HBL is a major Alice in Chains fan. She used the band has her inspiration for this collection. Each of the seven polishes represent a song from each studio album and EP. I have three to share with you. I layered each one over black and a colored base. Check out all the details under the cut!
Love Song
hidden track from EP SAP 1992
clear base
matte pink, red-orange, and white
squares and hexes
tiny white bars
matte pink hearts
Love Song
one coat over black creme
one coat Rica Glossy Glam
Love Song
Amazing formula and glitter payoff in just one coat. The only problem I had was getting the pink hearts out of the bottle. I only have a mini, so I think it wouldn't be a problem in a full size. Just one coat of Glossy Glam smoothed it over.
Love Song
one coat over
OPI Red Hot Ayers Rock
one coat Rica Glossy Glam
Love Song
I'm not usually a fan of bar glitter, but these are so tiny. They didn't give me any problems at all. This mix is unique to me. I've seen so many "Valentine" glitters, but this takes the cake. Super cute!
Frogs
from album Alice in Chains 1995
clear base
metallic and holographic green hexes and squares
metallic blue hexes
tiny green and blue holographic glitter
Frogs
one coat over black creme
one coat Rica Glossy Glam
Frogs
Same great formula as Love Song. I had no issues with application. It dried fairly fast and only needed one coat of Glossy Glam to finish it off.
Frogs
one coat over
Essie Aruba Blue
one coat Rica Glossy Glam

This is my favorite of the three! I love green polish. This one is blingy and eye catching. The metallic and holo glitters work really well together.
Rotten Apple
from EP Jar of Flies 1994
clear base
caramel, bronze, metallic red, and holographic red hexes in various sizes
medium metallic red dots
Rotten Apple
one coat over black creme
one coat Rica Glossy Glam
Rotten Apple
I'm going to take a gamble and say that all Honey Bunny Lacquers have an amazing formula, but I could be wrong. This one applied just as nicely as the other two and had a great glitter payoff. Imagine that! I used one swipe of Glossy Glam to top it off.
Rotten Apple
one coat over
Zoya Suri
one coat Rica Glossy Glam
Rotten Apple
The red holographic glitters in this are crazy! They flash red, pink, and purple. That's why I layered this over a purple base. I actually thought it had purple glitters in it. Nope! Those holo glitters are tricky little buggers. I really like the mix of bronze and caramel in this one.
Have you tried any Honey Bunny Lacquer? After seeing these three, I'm excited for new collections to come out. These were all super easy to apply and are very wearable. They'd be great for a full manicure look, accent nails, or gradients. Which one is your favorite?
Honey Bunny Lacquer can be purchased through the Etsy shop.
Love Song, Frogs, and Rotten Apple are available in minis for $4 USD or full size for $9 USD plus shipping.

Frogs is great over black! Normally, I wouldn't look twice at it but I love how you layered it :)
ReplyDeleteIt kind of reminds me of Luigi. Someone commented on my FB that it looks like a globe when layered over blue. I love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the post. It was my pleasure!
ReplyDeleteIt was really surprising to me. The orange is perfect!
