Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Winter Collection

Press Sample

I told you I'd have a big Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer collection up soon! Tonight, I'm here to deliver. This collection contains five polishes plus a limited edition holographic polish available only to those of you who purchase the whole collection. I love little extras like that.

Julie, the creator, wanted this collection to be just icy enough to be wintery. I think she nailed it. (No pun intended.) Check out all the good stuff after the cut! And don't forget to tell me your favorites!

Toasty Warm

blackened red creme
red shimmer flecks

Toasty Warm

two coats
one coat Rica Glossy Glam

Toasty Warm

Two super easy coats and this polish is ready to go. The formula was perfect and needed just one pass of top coat. I had no problems with pooling or dry time.

Toasty Warm

This is my favorite of the collection! In the bottle, I thought it might be a little wrong. I was wrong. The shimmery flecks shine red, purple, and magenta. It's so much better in real life!

Frozen Ivy

deep forest green jelly
silver micro glitter
green micro glitter

Frozen Ivy

two coats
one coat Rica Glossy Glam

Frozen Ivy

The formula was great and squishy. I was surprised I only needed two coats for full opacity. I had zero issues with pooling, dragging, or dry time. One coat of Glossy Glam finished it off nicely.

Frozen Ivy

Amazing squishy goodness. This is my second favorite. I love how the silver and green micro glitter add great dimension to this.

Plum Tired of the Cold

blackened plum shimmer base
gold tiny hexes
red micro hexes
red, purple, burgundy, and black hexes
red and purple diamonds
holo red and black circles

Plum Tired of the Cold

two coats over one coat black creme
one coat Rica Glossy Glam

Plum Tired of the Cold

This polish is on the sheer side. I started this by itself, but decided it would be best to layer it over a darker base. I used two coats over a base. The glitter payoff was great and applied well. I just needed one coat of Glossy Glam to smooth it over.

Plum Tired of the Cold

There's so much going on in this. I love the heavy plum shimmer paired with the red, black, gold, and purple glitters. This is unlike anything I've ever seen in a polish before. Definitely a winner!

Tacky Winter Sweater

light pink jelly base
primary blue, holo purple, bright pink, and iridescent hexes
bright pink diamonds
bright pink circles
pink micro glitter
light pink snowflakes

Tacky Winter Sweater

three coats
two coats Rica Glossy Glam

Tacky Winter Sweater

I used three coats to achieve opacity. This polish is a little on the thick side because of the larger glitters, but it's workable. I spoke to Julie and she'll be trying to thin them out a bit. Because of the thicker base, it does take a bit longer to dry. Totally worth it! I used one coat of top coat on my index and pinky, but two coats on my middle and ring. The snowflakes need a little more help smoothing out.

Tacky Winter Sweater

If you love pinks and purples, this polish is for you! This polish would look great with one or two coats over a light pink or white base. Don't forget to roll this one around a few times before using it! Gotta mix up those glitters.

Snowfall at Dusk

periwinkle blue crelly base
blue hexes, squares, and circles
blue-green iridescent hexes
large white snowflakes

Snowfall at Dusk

two coats
one coat Rica Glossy Glam

Snowfall at Dusk

I used just two coats for this look. This polish is also a little thick, but it's more opaque than TWS. I only used one coat of top coat. For the large white snowflake, I fished it out and used tweezers to kind of fold it in the middle. That little trick works to keep the edges down.

Snowfall at Dusk

There's so much glitter in this polish that two coats was enough for coverage. This was one of my unforeseen favorites. A must have for anyone who loves blue polish.

Hypothermia
*Limited Edition*

dark purple linear holographic
vivid purple shimmer
icy gray undertones

Hypothermia

two coats
one coat Rica Glossy Glam

Hypothermia

AMAZING FORMULA. This applied like butter. It went on with no hiccups and I didn't have any problems at all. It dried quickly and I used one layer of top coat to finish it off.

Hypothermia

Please keep in mind that this is a limited edition polish that it only available when purchasing the whole winter collection!

There are so many layers and dimensions to this holo. The base, the shimmer, and icy gray. This is truly a chameleon purple. It'll be in my rotation from now on. It's one of my favorites from the collection.

The full collection including Hypothermia will be available for $63 USD which includes priority shipping within the US.
Individual polishes will be available for $8 USD each plus shipping.
There will be a full restock at the Big Cartel Shop of all current polishes, the Winter Collection, and the New Year's Duo on 1/1/2014 at 3:00 est.

  2. Toasty Warm is the sleeper hit for me. I bought it and in the bottle it looks like a run of the mill polish. Then you put it on and BAM it's unique perfection.
