Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - Leave the Sun Behind Me Collection

Press Sample

Hey, babes! I'm hoping this will be the first of many posts. I've been on a rollercoaster lately. I don't want to go into detail because I've been crying a lot lately and don't feel like bringing it all up.

Finding the package with these pretty babies totally made my day. Julie of Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer had been talking these up for a bit and they are way better than I ever imagined. This is a super big post so be prepared!

This applied wonderfully in just two easy coats. This collection is great because it doesn't require white undies. You could use them, but it's not a requirement. You'll definitely want top coat to smooth other the flakies.

Those flakies are heaven. They create a nice depth and shimmer. It's a lot more neon in real life. You'll see me say that throughout this post. Neons are so hard to capture correctly.

Again, great coverage in just two coats. You can see a tiny bit of my nails underneath, but not much. It's not noticeable in real life. Since these are neon, top coat is a must for shine.

Thanks for Using Me

The shimmer is really nice and much more noticeable in person. It shifts back and forth from gold to green to blue. This is an awesome pedicure color and is currently on my toes.

Stop Involving Me!

gold glass flecks

Stop Involving Me!

Since I didn't use a white base, I went with three coats. If you don't mind some visible nail line, two coats would be fine. I finished it off with top coat.

Stop Involving Me!

This is way, way more neon in real life. I didn't want to edit the pictures to give a false representation of the color. Actually, that goes for all these.

Look at These @#$holes

This one is probably the most opaque aside from the purple. It was perfect in just two coats.

This polish is sensitive to light and could possibly fade in the bottle. I'd say it's a bit more of a darkened coral than red. I really like it because the pink flecks really set it off.

Just two coats again! Can you believe it? This applied like butter and didn't give me any problems. It was a bit matte so you'll want to use top coat.

This is a stunner. Who doesn't love a neon pink? Hello!

This is pretty opaque, but make sure you let it dry before applying a second coat or it'll drag. I used two coats to get the perfect look. You'll want top coat for this since the flakies can get a bit bumpy.

Wowee! This is insane! I have a feeling this will be a favorite for everyone. The flakies are super shifty and the jelly base gives them the perfect world to shine.

Of course I had to do some nail art with these. Super simple nail art, but still. I haven't done nail art in such a long time. It felt great to finally dive back in!

As always, my base is Rica White Out. It's my favorite white ever.
