Rica - Squishy Plum Tonal Roses

Press Sample: Squishy Plum

I feel like I haven't done nail art in ages! With the passing of yet another birthday, I've been mourning the loss of my mid twenties. I'm getting old. So, so old. I shouldn't be worried about me age, but I can't help it. It's left me uninspired and just feeling blah.

Don't mind me being melodramatic. Keep on reading for how to recreate this rose nail art that's perfect for autumn!

Items Used

China Glaze Prey Tell
Rice Whiteout
Rica Squishy Plum
Rice Glossy Glam
MoYou London Pro XL 23
Konad Stamper

After asking for some inspiration on my Facebook page, many of you suggested I try out some more stamping. I had on China Glaze Prey Tell and decided to give it a go.

I stamped the roses over Prey Tell using Rica Whiteout. This is my favorite white ever. It's super opaque and perfect for stamping. I topped it with some Glossy Glam because I thought I was done. It didn't look quite right to me so I had to add to it.

Two coats of Squishy Plum gave me this look. How perfect is it? You can use the jelly polishes from Rica in so many ways. One coat was nice, but two coats gave me a richer look. I topped this with Glossy Glam even though Squishy Plum was shiny on its own.

I love this look! I think it's finally gotten me out of my funk. Would you try out this look?

  1. I love that you used Squishy Plum to make the roses plum colored! Very creative and beautiful too! I would have never known they were white before.

  3. Ashley, your stamping looks great. (I can't do it!!) The roses really look so much more "autumn-like" once covered with Squishy Plum.

  4. Thank you! I'm really trying to do it more often. I'm hoping to get more of the MoYou plates. I can't stamp with super small images.
