Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer - It Got Away from Me, Yeah... Collection [The Ladies]

Press Sample

Calling all Whovians! I'm downright giddy over this collection. Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer is releasing the It Got Away from Me, Yeah... collection soon. The first release is full of inspiration from all your favorite Doctor Who ladies.

I recently started watching Doctor Who for research purposes. I had to know more about this collection, right? Well, about two weeks and six seasons later, I'm a big fan. So, let's get on with it. -insert Tardis whooshing sound here-

Is That a Technical Term,
Jiggery Pokery?

inspired by Rose

hot pink jelly base
silver, light pink, and dark pink holo hexes, dots, stars, and butterflies
intense pink shimmer
holo sparkles

one coat Rica Glossy Glam

Jiggery Pokery?

One super glitter packed coat and this one is good to go. I didn't have any problems with application and one coat of top coat was enough to finish it off.

I wasn't sure about this one, but the dark base is perfect. I wish you can really see how amazing the pink shimmer is!

I'm Dr. Martha Jones.
Who the Hell Are You?

bright purple leaning magenta

Who the Hell Are You?

Two easy coats and this is good to go. It dries a bit satiny so I suggest top coat for a high shine look.

Martha is my least favorite companion, but I like this polish a lot. It would look killer with black stripes for a Halloween look!

You Just Want to Mate?!

inspired by Donna

juicy cherry red creme
red, orange, and gold microflakies and shimmer

Two unbelievably easy coats for full opacity. This cherry syrup formula was perfect and a breeze to apply. I love that it didn't flood my cuticles because reds are such a pain to clean up. I added top coat for a shiny look.

Donna was my favorite companion and this is one of my top picks from the collection! I love the microflakies in this. They shimmer and shine beautifully.

A Long Time Ago Tomorrow

inspired by Amy

tardis blue creme
blue to purple shifting flakies

A Long Time Ago Tomorrow

Two easy coats and this one is good to go. It dries to a satin finish which is great, but I prefer it with top coat to really make it pop.

For the life of me, I couldn't capture the shift in the flakes. It's more noticeable in real life.

Just Admiring Your Skills, Sweetie

inspired by River

iris purple creme
pink to purple shimmer

Just Admiring Your Skills, Sweetie

Like the other polishes, this was two easy coats. No issues with application and a normal dry time. I used top coat to really make the shimmer shine.

The shimmer in this is so intense. In different lights, it looks like a different polish. It's always going back and forth like River.

A Snogging Booth?

inspired by Clara

clear base
red and black metallic holographic microglitters

A Snogging Booth?

For a clear based glitter, this was really opaque. I only needed two coats for this look. You could easily layer it over a base to get a different look. It dries to a texture. I used one coat of top coat to gloss it over. I was surprised that it wasn't top coat hungry.

I don't know who Clara is yet, but I can't wait to get rid of Amy. I feel like her story line has gone on for far too long.

A Snogging Booth?

two coats
no top coat

I wanted to show this off without top coat, too. It's slightly textured, and doesn't snag on anything. I don't know how Julie does it, but it's amazing.

This is my other top pick from the collection. I love it with or without top coat. So good! Which is your favorite?

Just for fun, here's Winslow pretending to be the eleventh Doctor.
