The Beauty Buffs: Coral

Hey, babes! It's been a busy few weeks and I'm back with a killer post from The Beauty Buffs. Today's theme is coral. I love coral, but it's such a hard shade to describe. There are so many different varieties from peachy pinks to bright darkened orange corals. I shopped my stash and came up with six to share with all of you. Check out all the details on this nail art look after the jump...

OPI My Vampire is Buff
Zoya Wendy
Essie Peach Daiquiri
Milani Colorful Coral
Illamasqua Lament
China Glaze Pink Plumeria
China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy
Rica Glossy Glam
striping tape

Coral Mosaic

This look might seem complicated, but it's not. It's just a bit time consuming. I started with a base of My Vampire is Buff. I used two coats plus Rica Glossy Glam. Whenever I'm using tape for nail art, I make sure my base is fully dry. I watched the season finale of Supernatural before moving on.

Coral Mosaic

After my base was dry, I used striping tape to make the sections. One coat of each polish was enough to get the look I wanted. The tape was removed using tweezers to make it easier. I finished it off with Glossy Glam to seal the deal.

Coral Mosaic

This is definitely my favorite nail art look I've done in a long, long time. It's perfect for spring and summer. Plus, it's a lot more interesting than a plain old ombre or gradient.

Coral Mosaic

I'm not sorry for all the pictures. I'm really proud of this!

  12. I know what you mean. I have to make sure my base is completely dry before I can use any tape.

  13. Well, my problem is when I remove the tape, the polish I just applied on top will pull or create bumps, which I don't know how to fix or avoid so I always end up removing my whole mani in frustration :(

  14. I put the tape on the back of my hand a few times to make it less sticky. It's still sticky enough to use on my nail, but it won't pull up the base. Plus, you have to remove the tape while it's still wet. If it's dry, it'll stretch or bubble.
