Tillie Polish - Falling Collection

Hey, babies! I'm back and I'm so excited for autumn. It's my favorite season: cool weather, pumpkins, layered clothes; Halloween, and more. It's been a rough few weeks, but I'm ready to turn over a new leaf or leaves. Falling leaves, that is. Tonight's post really gets me pumped for a new season. Tillie sent me three polishes from the Falling Collection to review.

Products sent for review.

Tillie is a new to me indie brand. Here's a little about Tillie (taken from www.tilliepolish.com): We are three sisters who share a love for nail polish. Our inspiration behind Tillie was to share our passion for trendy colors, long-lasting formula, and toxic-free ingredients with other nail polish fanatics. Between school, work, and play, the last thing we want is for our nail polish to let us down. This fast drying, opaque formula was carefully designed for the busy, yet stylish, lacquer lover in mind. You can have a clear conscience because our products are animal cruelty free. Tillie polishes are also non-toxic and made without toulene, formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, dibutyl phthalate (DBP), or camphor.

All pictures were taken in natural daylight.
All swatches are over one coat of Duri Rejuvacote and topped with Seche Vite.

Espresso Yourself
two coats
medium chocolate brown creme

Espresso Yourself

This applied like a dream. Two coats provided perfect coverage. The formula wasn't too thin or too thick. The dry time was average.

I was a little hesitant about this color, but I ended up loving it. It's rich and compliments my skin tone really well.

Forbidden Fruit
two coats
classic rich red creme

Forbidden Fruit

AH-MAZE-ZING. Perfect application with a great dry time in just two coats. It's completely opaque and super shiny.

I've found my new go to red. It didn't flood my cuticles or give me dreaded lobster hands. I love that it leans a blue instead of orange. I think it would work on nearly anyone.

Fall FĂȘte
two coats
tangerine orange creme
subtle golden yellow shimmer

Fall FĂȘte

Another stunner! Two coats of pure bliss. This is right on par with the other two.

Orange is typically a tricky color for me, but this did not disappoint. It's beautiful, and the golden shimmer really takes it to another level. This will be perfect for halloween nail art.

While I was swatching these three polishes, I couldn't help but picture them all together in some sort of nail art. I tried a few things, but nothing was working out for me. Fortunately, I was able to create something that complemented the colors well.

Water-falling Nail Art
base: OPI My Vampire's Buff

Using a long nail art brush, I used light strokes starting at my cuticle and swept towards the tips. I cleaned the brush after every color and lighting layered them until I achieved my desired look.

As you can see, I did my pinky first. It didn't come out quite as I wanted, but I definitely got the hang of it by the time I moved to my other nails.

Water-falling Nail Art

I can't decide if it looks more like feathers or leaves. Whatever it is, I love it. The colors look awesome and make me yearn for pumpkin cookies and chai lattes.

Water-falling Nail Art

This is my favorite picture because it captures what I was going for. Let's just pretend my pinky looks like these three.

What do you think of this look? Do you think you'll be trying your hand at this look in the fall?
