Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids

          

          It's no secret that I adore the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids line. Not a day goes by that I don't reach for one of these creamy bright lipsticks. If you follow me on Instagram, you're probably sick of seeing my face and my lipstick choices. (ha!) I've had several people ask for swatches, and finally decided to give it a go. I thought I had all of them, but I guess I was wrong. I have eight of the ten. I'm missing Vibrant Mandarin and Neon Red. I'll update this post as soon as I get those two as well.

Maybelline Color Whisper: Who Wore It Red-er and Oh La Lilac

          Today, I have two of the new Maybelline Color Whisper "lipsticks" to share with you. Maybelline describes these as pure color pigments suspended in a weightless gel. I think that's pretty spot on. 

Bare Lips

       For a point of reference, these are my bare lips. I didn't want to change the look or feel of the lip glazes so I didn't apply chapstick or liner. For normal wear, I would have used both. Especially in this cold weather.

        This is my favorite of the two. I was expecting a much redder  color, but I'm happy with the outcome. It's very wearable. With a red liner and base, this reads much differently.

        I was disappointed by this one. The color just doesn't do it for me and it didn't give me the color pay off I was hoping for. I think it doesn't work well with my natural lip color.

Pros:

• Light fruity smell and minimal taste
• 20 shades to chose from
• Easy application
• Low price point: I paid $6 USD at Target.
• Super glossy finish and build-able color
• Convenient and attractive packaging 

Cons:

• Not long lasting

          What do you think? Oh La Lilac just isn't for me. I'm still on the look out for the perfect lilac to suit my skin tone. Since swatching these, I've worn Who Wore It Red-er several times. It's great for every day looks since it isn't as intense as my full coverage lipsticks. If you haven't tried these yet, definitely pick one up! For $6, it's well worth a shot.

Maybelline Color Sensational Vivids: Hot Plum

        Here's a new addition to the blog! This is my first makeup review. A few months ago, you'd never find me wearing anything on my lips other than Burt's Bees chapstick. My lips are pretty pigmented on their own and I never felt comfortable in lipstick. That's all changed!

Just for fun: My best grumpy cat face.

Pros:

• Perfect pinky purple.
• Super pigmented.
• Creamy and easy to apply texture.
• Decent staying power.
• Soft and hydrating formula.
• Available at drugstores at a nice price. (MSRP: $7.49)

Cons:

• Cheap packaging. 
• No "safety seal" on the product.
• Must keep in a cool place; easily melts.

        

        I absolutely love this product. Since first purchasing this one, I've already gone back for more! I'm up to four so far and I'll be picking up the others soon. Have you tried any of the colors from this line? What are your favorites?
