L'Oreal - Berry Nice and a Jelly Nail Art Sandwich

After a terrible day, I shop to make myself feel better. Retail therapy always helps. I stopped at a grocery store after work to get ice cream and found myself near the makeup. Big surprise, huh? I spotted the new Miss Candy collection from L'Oreal. This collection has eight great jelly polishes. I picked up a few. Today's post features my favorite so far: Berry Nice. A nice syrupy grape jelly polish. It was opaque enough for me in three coats and had a great shiny and squishy look. I love this polish!

I'm not sure if any of you have seen a jelly nail art sandwich before this. I first saw it a few weeks ago when a picture was floating around in a few nail polish groups on Facebook. I'm not sure who was the original post. If you do, let me know! Here are a few ideas I wanted to try out first.

WNW White Creme between

no top coat

I free handed these designs with a small nail art brush. I was just testing out different designs. These are far from perfect, but I thought you might want to see them. The dotticure was my favorite. After that, the half circles. If I attempt this again, I'll use striping tape or a stamp.

Liquid Lacquer - Collide Into You

Today's post features an indie polish created by a lovely lady I've come to know through the polish community on Facebook. Liquid Lacquer recently had a restock in the Big Cartel shop. There are new glitter toppers, new holos, and glitter polishes. I had to restrain myself from buying too many at once. My top pick is Collide Into You.

Lush Lacquer - Clowning Around

A few weeks ago, I won a Lush Lacquer giveaway on Facebook. I very rarely win anything, and was pretty excited about it. I won a polish of my choice from the new neon collections. There were some great glitter combos in milky bases, but I went with Clowning Around. I figured a clear base would give me more versatility.

New Specs and More!

Since getting my first pair of glasses in August, I can't stop looking for cute frames. If you're like me, you've searched the internet for steals and deals on prescription glasses. I've dealt with Coastal.com a few times, but I was on the lookout for something new. I came across Zenni Optical through a friend and picked up this pair

I'm pretty much in love with these glasses. They fit perfectly and are lightweight. I have a wide face, and have a hard time finding glasses that are comfortable. Many women's frames are far too snug on me. The price was super cheap at only $35 after the anti glare coating and shipping, plus they arrived quickly. I didn't expect them to come so soon. All Zenni Optical glasses include thin single vision lenses, anti scratch coating, UV protection, a case, and a microfiber cloth. Frames start at just $6.95! Right now, there's a BOGO 1/2 Off special you can claim on their Facebook page here.

These glasses aren't in the cat eye category, but I'd say they're pretty close to that style. I found them by looking for large frames.

Lynnderella: I Don't Mean Rhinestones

Sorry about the lack of posts! I had several nails break shortly after my last post. I had to start fresh, and actually went without polish for a few days because nothing looked right on my teeny tiny nail beds. I started using Rejuvacote. Don't miss the naked nail pic at the end of this post. Today's nail of the day is a stunner!

I Don't Mean Rhinestones
one coat Essie Go Overboard
one coat IDMR
two coats Seche Vite

I love this polish! IDMR applied smoothly and without any trouble at all. It's a gorgeous mix of teal hexes and holographic diamonds with a generous sprinkling of tiny turquoise holographic glitter.

These pictures are in natural light and are after three days of wear. Yes, three days! I can hardly believe it myself. As you can see, there's just a tiny bit of tip wear. This is practically unheard of for me. I find that letting each coat dry completely before moving on really helps my glitter manicures staying power.
